Liquid Chelated Trace Elements
PacificAg can supply a wide range of liquid chelated trace elements necessary for plant growth and animal health.
Cobalt Grass grows well without cobalt, clover requires some, but grazing animals will die without adequate levels of cobalt in their diet. It has been estimated that at least half the lambs grown in Otago and Southland don't get enough cobalt for optimum growth. Copper Copper is necessary for both plant growth and animal health. Cattle, deer and goats grazing NZ pastures frequently suffer from copper starvation. On the other hand, copper in excess is a highly toxic heavy metal. Iodine Iodine compounds make handy disinfectants because they are strong oxidising agents, destroying bacteria and "binding" with organic matter. Trace quantities of iodine are essential in the diet of all animals. Manganese Manganese is a trace element vital for plant and animal life in small quantities, however this element is abundant in NZ soils and we tend to have much more of it then we need. It has a reputation for making pastures unpalatable. Molybdenum Molybdenum is essential for the growth of clovers in pasture and also plays a vital role in animal health, influencing the uptake and retention of copper. Selenium Selenium is the great anti-oxidant - the front line soldier in the attack against cancers and free radicals. Zinc Zinc is the great healer, and is needed for an active sex life and many other functions in animals and plants. |
